STORY FRUITION LLC COOKIE POLICY

Last updated August 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how Story Fruition LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) uses cookies and similar tracking technologies on storyfruition.com and the Missy speech coaching experience (together, our “Services”). It explains what these technologies are, why we use them, and the choices available to you. This Cookie Policy should be read together with our Privacy Policy at storyfruition.com/privacy-policy, which explains more broadly how we handle personal information.

  1. WHAT ARE COOKIES AND SIMILAR TECHNOLOGIES?

A cookie is a small text file placed on your device when you visit a website. Cookies let a site recognize your browser on a later visit, remember your preferences, and understand how the site is used. We also use related technologies that work similarly to cookies, including pixels (small transparent images that report back when a page or email is opened) and local storage (data a browser stores for a site, similar to a cookie but not sent with every request).

Cookies we set directly are “first-party cookies.” Cookies set by a vendor we work with, such as an advertising or analytics provider, are “third-party cookies.”

  1. HOW WE USE COOKIES

We use cookies and similar technologies for the following purposes:

  1. Strictly necessary: Required for the Services to function, such as maintaining your session and remembering security settings. These cannot be switched off in our systems and do not require your consent.
  2. Functional: Remember choices you make, such as display or accessibility preferences, so the Services work the way you expect on your next visit.
  3. Analytics: Help us understand how visitors use storyfruition.com, such as which pages are viewed and how the Missy experience performs, so we can improve our Services.
  4. Advertising: Used to measure the performance of our marketing and, where enabled, to make ads more relevant to you across other sites.
  5. COOKIES WE USE

The table below lists the cookies and similar technologies we have confirmed are active on storyfruition.com as of the date of this policy. We are completing a full technical cookie audit with our engineering team; this table will be updated as that audit is finished and whenever our vendors change.

We currently use the Meta Pixel for advertising measurement and RudderStack as our analytics and customer data platform. Neither is strictly necessary for the Services to function, and both are addressed by the consent controls described in Section 4.

  1. YOUR CHOICES AND CONTROLS

Cookie preferences

Story Fruition is implementing a cookie consent banner that will let you accept or decline non-essential cookies before they are set, and change your choice at any time through a persistent “Cookie Settings” link. Until that banner is live, non-essential cookies described in Section 3 may load automatically; closing this gap is one of our highest-priority action items (see the accompanying Compliance Review).

Browser controls

Most browsers let you block or delete cookies through their settings. Refusing cookies will not prevent you from using our Services, though some functionality may not work as intended. Because browser controls vary, please check your browser's help resources for instructions.

Global Privacy Control (GPC)

We recognize the Global Privacy Control signal. When your browser or browser extension sends a GPC signal, we treat it as a valid request to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information and to limit our use of sensitive personal information, consistent with CCPA/CPRA regulations. Where required, we display a visible “Opt-Out Preference Signal Honored” confirmation when we detect a GPC signal from your browser.

Do Not Track

Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” (DNT) signal. Because there is no common industry standard for interpreting DNT, our Services do not currently respond to DNT signals differently than described in this policy. This disclosure is provided in accordance with California Business and Professions Code § 22575.

Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information

To the extent any cookie data is considered a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information under the CCPA/CPRA, you may opt out using our “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link, once implemented (see the accompanying Compliance Review), or by sending a GPC signal as described above.

Advertising network opt-outs

You can also opt out of interest-based advertising from participating companies through the Digital Advertising Alliance at optout.aboutads.info, the Network Advertising Initiative at optout.networkadvertising.org, or, in the European Union, youronlinechoices.eu. These tools do not opt you out of advertising altogether, only interest-based advertising from participating companies.

  1. CONSENT

Strictly necessary cookies do not require your consent because they are needed to deliver the Services you request. All other categories described in Section 2 will only be set after you provide affirmative consent through our cookie banner, once implemented, or, where applicable law does not require prior consent, until you opt out using the controls in Section 4. You may withdraw consent at any time, and we will make withdrawing consent as easy as giving it.

  1. INTERNATIONAL AND STATE-SPECIFIC DISCLOSURES

If you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, our use of non-essential cookies relies on your consent as required by the ePrivacy Directive, UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), and the GDPR/UK GDPR; the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) is the supervisory authority for UK users.

If you are located in Canada, the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) applies at the federal level, and Quebec's Law 25 requires opt-in consent for non-essential cookies for users in Quebec.

As of 2026, a growing number of U.S. states (twenty or more, including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Texas, Oregon, and Montana) have enacted comprehensive consumer privacy laws addressing cookies and similar tracking technologies, and additional states continue to adopt their own laws. We intend to honor applicable rights under each of these laws, including the opt-out of targeted advertising and the sale or sharing of personal information described in Section 4, regardless of which state you are in.

If you are located in Washington State, our use of analytics and advertising cookies is also subject to Washington's My Health My Data Act (MHMDA) to the extent any tracking technology collects or infers consumer health data, such as data that reveals or could be used to infer a physical or mental health condition. Consistent with MHMDA, we do not use geofencing around healthcare facilities to trigger cookies, pixels, or other tracking technology, and we do not sell consumer health data collected through cookies. See our Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy at storyfruition.com/consumer-health-data-privacy-policy for more detail.

  1. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

Our Services are not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information through cookies from children under 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your jurisdiction) without appropriate parental consent. See Section 8 of our Privacy Policy for more detail.

  1. CHANGES TO THIS COOKIE POLICY

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the cookies we use or for legal or operational reasons. We recommend reviewing this policy periodically; the next scheduled review is January 2027, alongside our Privacy Policy and DMCA Policy.

  1. RELATIONSHIP TO OUR OTHER POLICIES

This Cookie Policy works together with our Privacy Policy (storyfruition.com/privacy-policy), Terms of Use (storyfruition.com/terms), and DMCA Policy (storyfruition.com/dmca). If any part of this Cookie Policy conflicts with the Privacy Policy regarding the handling of personal information, the Privacy Policy controls.
